As the trend towards the use of sustainable and plastic-free materials continues, so does the demand for machines that are compatible with these materials. This is happening in France, for example, where regulations that limit the use of plastic in certain products were introduced as early as the year 2020," says Valerio Nucci. One of the innovations introduced by the company is the new version of the Wrap Box 600 lidding machine. "The new version is equipped with a special structure and a mobile electrical cabinet that allows the operator easy access for inspection, maintenance and cleaning of the machine's main components," says Massimiliano Nucci, GNA's design and R&D manager. "In addition, the latest developments have resulted in a redesigned operator interface, which is color-coded, and includes additional functions for searchable production data, network connectivity for remote assistance and technical documentation on the machine. On a structural level, we have improved the performance to a maximum speed of 30-32 packs per minute, up from 28."

The Wrap Box 600 is a machine designed to heat-seal micro- or macro-perforated, printed or neutral film, onto cardboard or wooden trays (20x30, 30x40, 30x50, 40x60 cm). In addition to flexible films (home-compost or traditional plastic films), Wrap Box can also work with either extruded netted mesh + film or cotton netted mesh + paper to make the lids. The machine is designed to wrap and protect small or large boxes containing fruit such as citrus, apricots, cherries and peaches, but also kiwis, apples, tomatoes, pears and grapes.

"We are seeing very good sales of this wrapper in Italy, France and the Arabic markets. Overall, we are very satisfied. Even when the Wrap Box has been integrated into complex and highly structured systems, the results have been excellent," continues Nucci.

GNA confirms its presence at Macfrut
"The main reason for our participation is to present our latest technological innovations to the Italian market and the Mediterranean countries. This year we will be in Hall D1, Stand 103 and we will be showing the new version of the Wrap Box and the new Robinia continuous vertical packaging machine."
