Between week 35 of 2023 and week 09 of 2024, Peru exported 562 tons of fresh grapes generating revenues of $1,484 million. This is 11% less volume but a 2% increase in value over the same period of the previous campaign (2022/2023), according to data from the Fluctuante market research company.
The increase in value despite the drop in volume is attributed to the rise in fruit prices in the international market. The main destinations for Peruvian table grapes in this campaign were the United States with 48% of the total, the Netherlands with 11%, and Mexico with 8%.
The volume exported to the US market decreased by 12% but the value remained stable, indicating steady demand and a greater willingness to pay for quality products. Exports to the Dutch market decreased both in value and volume. Despite this, it remains key to Peru's export strategy, highlighting the importance of strengthening its presence in this market.
On the other hand, the Mexican market exhibited significant growth in value and volume, underlining the opportunities for expansion in this territory. These results highlight the changing dynamics of international markets and the need to adapt export strategies to optimize performance.
