Southern Europe’s exports to Russia

Greece, Spain and Italy the largest exporters

The Freshfel data also provide a deeper insight into the fruit and vegetable exports from the EU to Russia. It reveals what products were exported to Russia by each country, in what volumes and for how many dollars. Today, Southern Europe, where Greece, Spain and Italy have been the most hit.

Of all Southern European countries, Spain, Greece and Italy exported the largest volumes to Russia. Spain takes the first three places with peaches and nectarines, tomatoes and mandarins, accounting for 111,821 tonnes, 70,331 tonnes and 47,669 tonnes. Greece follows with peaches and kiwis, accounting for nearly 43,000 and 37,000 tonnes, then Italian grapes, with a volume of 27,944 tonnes.



In dollars, Spanish peaches and nectarines are on the first place with a value of $ 164.6 million, followed by Spanish tomatoes in second place with 109.9 million. These are followed by Greek nectarines and peaches with 63.4 million. Italy takes the fifth place with an export value of $ 50.6 million in table grapes.
