Severe frost damage Austrian fruit

The arrival of arctic air is leaving traces in Europe. From the Austrian district of Styria reports have come in about extensive damages to fruit crops. Possibly eighty per cent of fruit crops have suffered severe frost damage. Losses of 100 million Euro have already been discussed. The Czech Republic and Slovakia did not remain unscathed either.

Last Monday, around the French city of Bordeaux, extensive damage was caused to the grape cultivation. Belgium and the UK had severe frost, but no damages were reported. The coming three nights, large parts of Europe will also experience (severe) night frost, which inevitably will cause even more damages to crops.
