"This year we are happier, but the production volume is small"

The market demand has improved this year; however, the production volume is failing to meet the needs of the market due to the bad weather recorded in December and the losses caused in the harvests.

"Many markets are interested in Datterini (mini pear) tomatoes, because it is a particularly tasty variety," states Giuseppe Cilio, one of the three young people responsible for Italo's Farmer. Some of these markets include northern Italy, Spain and Morocco. Moreover, this year there have also been orders from countries in northern Europe, like the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and England. "Based on our data, after a first order from our customers in central Europe, we were asked for more because the consumers were happy with the product," affirms Cilio.

Italo's Farmer is a young Italian company committed to the marketing of products "100% made in Italy". One of its objectives is to gain a foothold in most European markets, guaranteeing quality and continuity. However, "we must always take into account the competition from North African countries, since their labour and production costs are much lower than ours," says Cilio.
