Greek and Macedonian companies want direct Skopje-Athens air connection
Companies from Macedonia and Greece have insisted on the need for a direct airline connecting Skopje and Athens, as this would help strengthen the business ties between both countries.
This was announced by the President of the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce, Sotir Ampov, in a press conference held in Skopje. He stressed that, as neighbouring countries, Greece and Macedonia have great potential for cooperation, taking also into account that Greece is one of Macedonia's five most important economic partners. Last year, trade between both countries amounted to 598 million Euro.
Mr Ampov further highlighted that the cooperation between Greek and Macedonian companies has been excellent so far, adding that the biggest opportunities are in construction, agriculture and in the processing of fruits and vegetables.
Entrepreneurs from both countries have a desire for cooperation in third markets, as well as for the joint implementation of projects financed with EU funds, as pointed out in the press conference.
