"China: "Asian pear export prices far from ideal"
"Because of the outbreak of jizhua disease, the production of Huangguan pears from Hebei has dropped 40% from last season. The Ya pear production has also dropped by around 10% for the same reason, but because the prices are rather high, the overall Ya pear production has not fluctuated as much," said Mr. Qi Lei from Botou Yafeng Fruit Co., Ltd.

"This drop in production has not pulled up the overall export prices. The quoted prices from importers from Europe and South East Asia are far from ideal. As was the case in previous years, the Chinese New Year will probably increase export, but the export price will not change much."
An overview of the factory
"Our company has around 1,200 hectares (12,000 mu) of fields, of which 200 hectares are owned solely by us, and the remaining 1,000 hectares are collectively owned. We have a wide variety of pears, such as Ya pears, Huangguan pears and Xin Li 7 pears. 80% of our pears comes from our own fields. Currently, we are exporting our pears under our own brands 'Boyang' and 'Yafeng' through the port of Tianjin to countries in Europe and America, such as the United States, Canada and the Netherlands, and South East Asia."
