Eurasian Economic Commission:

‘We call on Russia to resume imports of Belarusian mushrooms’

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) has asked colleagues from Russia to resume import of Belarusian mushrooms. According to the EAEC Collegium, the Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) ban on the supply of mushrooms from Belarus was in violation of EAEC rules.

"This Russian organisation has no right to impose restrictions on the supply of certain types of products from all over the territory of the Member State. Such prohibitions do not comply with the provisions of the EAEC Treaty and impede the freedom of movement of goods in the Union."

Earlier there were reports that since July 24, 2018 by decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor, import of champignons into the territory of Russia will be banned. Last week, negotiations were held on this issue and afterwards, Rosselkhoznadzor allowed three Belarusian enterprises to import mushrooms again.
