Manbol, inspired by childhood mango-throwing games in the Amazon, has become a popular beach sport in Brazil. Invented by Rui Hildebrando and recognized in 2004, it's played with mango-shaped balls, challenging reflexes and stamina. Simple rules dictate scoring: land the ball on the opponent's side while catching theirs.
It's gained momentum nationally and internationally, with aspirations for Olympic recognition. Played on various surfaces, each game lasts 15-25 minutes, requiring two sets of 12 points to win. With around 2,000 players across Brazil, it's seen regional federation formation and even official recognition in Belem, demonstrating potential for further growth and inclusivity.
