Lemon auctioned for rs 35,000 at Tamil Nadu temple

During the Mahasivarathiri festivities at Pazhapoosaian temple near Sivagiri village, a lemon was auctioned for an impressive Rs 35,000 (422 USD), marking a unique tradition of the event. The temple, situated 35 km from the village, witnessed 15 devotees bidding for items offered to Lord Shiva, with the lemon attracting the highest bid from a devotee from Erode.

Following the auction, a special pooja was conducted, and the lemon was returned to the highest bidder amidst the presence of hundreds of devotees. This tradition is believed to bring riches and good health to the winning bidder, symbolizing the deep cultural and religious significance of such practices.
