Overall, between January and November 2012, Italian companies have exported 3 million and 667 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables, for just over 3 billion and 550 million Euro.
In terms of quantities, the figures have been positive as regards vegetables (+1.8%) and dried fruit (+1.8%), whereas there has been a decrease in exports of citrus fruits (-13.8%) and dried fruit (-9.8%). In terms of value, vegetables and citrus fruits haven't been positive whilst fresh fruit (+5.5%) and dried fruit (+4%) have increased.

As far as imports are concerned, Italy has imported approximately 2 million and 900 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables (-0.2%), for a total of 2 billion and 556 thousand Euro.
As regards the single sectors, there has been an increase in quantities of citrus fruits (+14.6%) and vegetables (+3.8%), but not of fresh fruit (-10%), dried fruit (-6.3%) and tropical fruit (-4.8%). In terms of value, the performances are all negative except for citrus fruits (+19%) and dried fruit (+5.6%).
