BIO TURBO destroys ethylene and aerial pathogens during transportation
The patented Bio TURBO technology destroys ethylene and aerial pathogens present in the cold rooms harmlessly, without the emission of any chemicals. Basically this is equipment that uses a catalyst to recycle the air.
The first installations of this equipment destroyer of ethylene gas have been done in record time. "Is an important jump for the transport industry, since it is the missing link of the chain and the most unprotected," says Francisco Vercher, Commercial Director for Europe and the Mediterranean for PrimePro and MIATECH’S BIO TURBO for Spain, postharvest technologies for better storage of produce and flowers.
"In a close in space as the interior of a transport trailer of a refrigerated truck, the advantages are huge, since it does not require chemicals to destroy ethylene. Besides also eliminates any type of aerial pathogens present in the air," Francisco Vercher comments. "The objective is to add value to the transport."
The fact that is a harmless technology, presents an added value in a world more conscious about health and food safety. "BIO TURBO has generated interest in the whole country, especially with the ecology minded sector which is the most demanding in matters of harmlessness," explains Francisco Vercher.
"There are several products absorbers of ethylene and pathogens in the market, but until now there were none that did both at the same time and it is harmless and leaves no trace of any kind."
One of the advantages BIO TURBO offers and is being liked by the users is the simplicity of the system and its practically nonexistent maintenance. "Easy to install, the equipment recycles the air 2 to 5 times daily inside the trailer of the truck. Only needs a change of an ozone grid and an air filter every 12 months."
For first time in the world, there is a produce company in Almeria, Spain. FRUTAS ESCOBI last week started using the BIO TURBO 100 system in their trucks and also the BIO TURBO 1000 in the cold rooms of their facilities, this company according to Francisco Vercher has always tried to stay in the forefront of technology.
"Since we installed Bio Turbo en one of our cold rooms where we usually store tomatoes besides other products, we have noticed the air is totally free of any smell. The tomato is one of the vegetables that produces lots of ethylene that can harm other products around them. We thought it was impossible to enter a cold room storing tomatoes and melons (Galia) without noticing one bit of smell of stored produce after having tested the classic ethylene absorbers until, we found this technology (Bio Turbo) It seems you have entered to your living room not a fully stocked cold room," explains Gabriel Escobar, General Manager of Frutas Escobi.
“Besides, we are relaxed to know we are not putting any chemicals in the cold room. I believe in the potential of this technology and its success”.
