North American retail chains need more Chilean citrus
According to information provided by the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association of the United States, CFFA, during the recent FPFC Expo (Fresh Produce & Floral Council Southern California Expo 2013), many representatives of the North American retail, particularly in the area of California, visited Chile's stand expressing their interest in acquiring greater volumes of Chilean citrus to be able to arrange future promotional campaigns.
"The interest of North American retailers to obtain greater supplies of Chilean citrus, such as Navel oranges, clementines and mandarins, is growing. The ability to supply when other international producers are unable to also brings great opportunities," stated Karen Brux, managing director of the Chilean FreshFruit Association of the United States.
"Everyone who visited our stand at the FPFC Expo expressed a great interest in arranging projects and obtaining promotional material for its display at points of sale and digital platforms," added Brux.
The Fresh Produce & Floral Council Expo is one of the biggest events for the fresh produce sector in Southern California, as it is attended by representatives of some of the largest retailers and distributors from various parts of the United States. This year the event gathered close to 194 stands and attracted 1,400 visitors.
