Spain: Seduberry, the heart-shaped strawberry

The firm Intercom, specialised in off-season strawberry production, will distribute a strawberry called 'Seduberry', characterised by its peculiar heart shape.

The fruit was presented at the Fruit Attraction Fair, and went on sale in limited amounts last July, as reported by Intercom through a statement sent to Europa Press.

The firm explained that these strawberries can be used for decoration in haute cuisine, pastries or wedding cake details, and has insisted that in horticulture "it is no longer enough to offer the best quality, but one must also give value added."

Intercom's technicians have admitted "the great effort" put into the production of this strawberry, as the attention and care needed are "unprecedented" for this type of fruit. In this sense, they have affirmed that "we work and care for them one by one, so our quality control is unsurpassable."

The company explained that the growing of strawberries in the province of Segovia, Spain, accounts for a "substantial" percentage of the strawberries for sale in other parts of Spain, the rest of Europe and North Africa.
