Russia exempts four exporters

Turkish tomatoes going to Russia from 1 Dec

Four Turkish tomato exporters have been granted permission to export to Russia. This was announced by the Russian news agency, TASS. Russia has, however, set a quota limit of 50,000 tonnes for the export of Turkish tomatoes.

According to the Russian Minister of Energy and Vice Chairman of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental Commission, "The decision was taken to amend the regulations, thus granting four companies permission to ship 50,000 tonnes of tomatoes to Russia." The first Turkish tomatoes should arrive in Russia on 1 December. "Prior to that we need to amend a few regulations."
