At the Uludağ Economy Summit in Sapanca, with the opening speech delivered by the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, the spotlight was on the burgeoning export potential of dried fruits and nuts from Turkey. The country's exports in this sector extend to 30 countries across three continents, with a marked preference for Turkish apricots and pistachios. A distinguishing factor for these exports is their organic farming base, which has increasingly positioned Turkish dried fruits and nuts favorably in the global market.
Gokcen Seker, CFO of Orgibite, highlighted the organic production methods as a key differentiator for Turkish products, stating, "The biggest difference is that they are grown based on organic farming methods." Seker noted the high demand from the United States, alongside significant interest from the European Union, Middle East, and Asia. She emphasized Turkey's competitive edge stemming from its agricultural potential and product quality. With a focus on organic and conventional exports, Seker expressed optimism for continued growth and an expanded global presence in the coming years.
