PGI blood oranges from Sicily are grown at the foothills of Mount Etna: the produce has now ripened and harvesting has started, marking the beginning of a new production cycle.
Harvesting of oranges
Blood oranges are also the main ingredient of the Amara liqueur, which has been recognized as one of the best on an international level.
After the success at the World Liqueur Awards, it was awarded the gold medal in the Spirits Selection at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the prestigious international competition that rewards the world's best distillates every year. The award was granted after a careful assessment by a jury of over 120 experts from 30 countries worldwide.
Edoardo Strano, founder of the brand, is very pleased with this recognition.

"It is an honor to receive such an important international award, proof of the fact that controlling the entire chain from the grove to the bottle is a key factor of success. We never compromised on quality and never will: we put the utmost care and attention in all phases of the production, from cultivation to bottling. This enables us to stand out in international competitions and to be appreciated abroad, a vision that helps us fulfill our highest aim: to illustrate the beauty and authenticity of the Etna agricultural territory all over the world."
Amara liqueur
Blood oranges from Sicily that grow at the foothills of Mount Etna are the undisputed protagonists of the Amara liqueur. The red color typical of these oranges is due to the temperature range in winter: when the fruits are ripe, the peel turns red, it fills with anthocyanins and concentrates extremely characteristic aromas and flavors. The small cellar, the expert hands of the few employees and the exclusive multiple infusion ensure that Amara is an artisan product, sealed every day with the unique red wax that celebrates authentic Sicilian craftsmanship on every bottle.
Throughout the harvesting period (February to March), it is possible to purchase the precious PGI blood oranges on the Amara shop and to have them delivered to your door in a practical 10 kg box.
