Russia receives the first batch of bananas from India

The port of Novorossiysk welcomed its inaugural shipment of bananas from India, weighing 22 tons in comprising over 1500 boxes of fruit. Fesco, the transportation group facilitating the delivery, announced the arrival on Thursday, March 14th. X5 Import, a subsidiary of Russia's largest retail company, X5 Group, commissioned the shipment.

The journey of these bananas began at the exporter's warehouse in Maharashtra, India, where they were loaded into a forty-foot refrigerated container. From there, the container travelled to the port of Nhava Sheva in Mumbai and was subsequently transferred onto a Fesco vessel bound for Novorossiysk on February 18th. The container ship docked at the Russian port on March 13th, as reported by KrasnodarMedia.

Upon completion of customs and quarantine inspections, the container of Indian bananas will be transported by road to the customer's warehouse. Another batch of bananas departed from India to Russia on March 12th.
