Mango calendar introduced in Bangladesh's Satkhira district

The Satkhira district administration in Bangladesh has unveiled a "mango calendar" aimed at regulating the marketing of unripe mangoes. The calendar specifies the harvesting and marketing dates for different mango varieties: Mumbai and Golap Khas from May 9, Govinda Bhog from May 11, Himsagar from May 22, Langra from May 29, and Amrapali from June 10.

This initiative was announced during a meeting held in the conference room of the Satkhira deputy commissioner. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, with key figures such as Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Hossain, and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shoaib Ahmad in attendance. Attendees urged mango farmers and traders to adhere to the calendar for collecting and marketing mangoes, while consumers were advised to purchase mangoes from Satkhira as per the schedule.
