Tunisia has seen an increase in citrus fruit exports, with figures reaching 8,493 tons valued at 29.4 million dinars up to May 2, compared to 7,614 tons worth 25.5 million dinars in the previous season, as reported by the Inter-professional Fruit Grouping (GiFruits). This marks an 11.5% rise in volume and a 15.2% increase in value.
The majority of these exports were Malta oranges, which constituted approximately 96% of the total citrus exports, followed by clementines at 1.7%. The French market emerged as the primary destination for these exports, absorbing over 90% of the total, with the Libyan market taking 7.3%, and the Gulf markets accounting for 2%.
