In March 2024, Peru exported 1,045 tons of strawberries. This entailed a 66.1% decline compared to the 3,087 tons exported in the same month of the previous year. Despite this drop in the volume exported, Peruvian strawberries remained present in 6 international markets. Canada and the United States stood out as the main destinations, accounting for 34.0% and 32.9% of the exports, respectively. South Korea with 11.1%, Chile with 10.7%, and Japan with 8.9% were other important destinations.
Regarding the formats in which the strawberries were exported, 75.4% were shipped frozen. Processed strawberries accounted for 19.4%, while fresh strawberries represented only 5.2% of the total exports.
