"We were looking for something innovative, such as a packaging that would make our products stand out, and at the same time, guarantee a good shelf life. We have been able to do this thanks to this type of cardboard packaging, with a wider visual presentation of the product inside," says Leonardo Odorizzi, a member of the La Grande Bellezza Italiana business network, who will be presenting the new fruit boxes at Macfrut.
Different packaging designs to promote branded products.
"We started selling Apulian cherries in this new packaging on 10 May. To do this, we created an external laboratory that has been carrying out field tests for more than 5 years with the aim of designing a paper packaging that is durable, allows the products to be perfectly visible and that does not affect the shelf life of the product. Up to this point, we had not found anything that was entirely to our satisfaction, while we are now at the pinnacle of our ideas. We were looking for maximum innovation but with a view to the future regulations."
"Thanks to the special design and structure of the packaging, we have achieved a good visual presentation of the product," says Odorizzi, "but at the same time we have maintained its strength so that there is no risk of breakage, even with the larger formats. The customer likes to see the product right away, so we think that having a larger display surface, encourages the consumer to buy."
The new packaging will be on display in a dedicated area at Macfrut (Hall B2), along with all the other new products from the La Grande Bellezza Italiana.
