In New Zealand, Dole Sunshine Company is collaborating with Musa Fabric to transform banana waste into useful fibers, aligning with the Dole Promise which aims at achieving zero fruit loss and carbon neutrality. This initiative not only focuses on environmental sustainability but also aims at empowering underrepresented communities by providing them training to extract and weave these fibers into fabric, which Musa Fabric then uses to create fashion products.
To highlight this partnership and Dole's commitment to both people and the planet, a pop-up store event will be held at Sylvia Park, Auckland. From Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th May 2024, visitors will have the opportunity to view the Musa Fabric products firsthand.
