Global trade of tree nuts has increased by 14 times in value since 2001

Since 2001, global trade of tree nuts - almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, and hazelnuts, among others - has increased by 14 times in value. As a major producer, the United States also exports most of the tree nuts traded globally.

The global tree nut market has grown exponentially during the past 20 years. The United States exported more of its tree nuts than other major producers, with almonds leading the pack in popularity.
