The report identifies Paranavaí, Cerro Azul, and Altônia as key areas for the cultivation of oranges, tangerines, and lemons, respectively.
2022 data reveals that citrus farming represents 53.7% of the state's total fruit-growing area, with 55.2 thousand hectares dedicated to orchards. Citrus fruits account for approximately 63.4% of the 1.3 million tons of fruit produced in Paraná. The majority of orange production, peaking from July, is processed into concentrated juice and by-products for export, alongside juice for domestic consumption. Tangerine harvests, commencing this month, are primarily aimed at the fresh market, necessitating marketing strategies to address their high perishability over a 10-week supply period.
