The Panama Canal Authority has unveiled enhancements to its Maritime Services Tariffs section, aimed at providing stakeholders with streamlined access to updated toll rates and maritime service costs. This section now features a detailed compilation of current tariffs, presented in a user-friendly drop-down format with an option for downloading.
Key to these enhancements is the introduction of a Maritime Services Estimation Calculator. This tool is designed to offer estimates on canal transit costs, incorporating both fixed and variable tariffs, alongside charges for maritime services and port movements. Further, the section is enriched with announcements, updates, explanatory notes, and examples to aid in understanding the tariffs.
An FAQ section has also been integrated, offering quick responses to frequently posed questions. The Authority clarifies that the newly introduced calculator is not intended to supplant the VUMPA calculator, which provides a more comprehensive estimate of the maritime services at the Panama Canal.
