Second International Africa Avocado Congress takes place on the 31st of May

The Avocado Society of Kenya has organized the second International Africa Avocado Congress, also known as Avocado Africa 2023, which will be held at Sarit Expo center Nairobi, Kenya, on 31st May – 2nd June 2023, themed, "Growing Avocados Sustainably". The event will draw participation of Avocado sector stakeholders from all over the world.

Avocado Africa 2023 is the largest convergence of stakeholders in the avocado sector in the world for Africa. It is a platform specifically aimed at stimulating trade, technology, knowledge transfer and sharing. It allows participants to be part of the most specialized matchmaking through the Avo-match platform and to learn about the disruptive production models that are developing more sustainable and profitable crops.

Last year in attendance were over 100+ companies, which included International and local companies like UNITE ,Amenduni, Maf roda Agrobotics, Felix Instruments,Vitone Eco, University of Calionia-Riverside, Kuehne+Nagel East Africa, Keitt Exporters Ltd, The Fresh Products Ltd, Syngenta, Croptech Kenya, Isinya Nurseries Ltd, Vegpro, Inspira Farms, among others.

The guest speakers comprised of Nour Abdrabbo of Unitec, Pedro Fernadez of Maf Roda, Leonard Felix of Felix Instruments, Eng. Gaetano Vitone of Vitone Eco, Ruth Vaughan of Cropnuts, Prof. Mary Lu Arpaia of University of Califonia-Riverside, Christo Van Der Meer of Kuehne+Nagel, Jean-Baptiste Longin of CMA CGM, Dipesh Devraj of Keitt Eporters Ltd, Dr. Bruni of Inspira Farms among others.

The congress objectives will be achieved through conferences, exhibition, social event, international speakers, private seminars and Avo-tours. The first event will be a welcome Gala dinner on 30th May, followed by conferences, seminars and exhibitions on 31st May and 1st June and finally farm tour on 2nd June 2023 to an Avocado nursery, orchard, Pack house and an oil processing plant.

This year Avocado Africa 2023 looks to bring together 3,000+ visitors, over 100+ exhibitors including international companies from Europe, UAE, UK, Asia and African countries.
