Hoping to curb smoking on hospital grounds, Hull Royal Infirmary has introduced a fruit and vegetable stall. Of course, smoking is banned on the grounds, but the rule is often ignored and staff feel uncomfortable challenging those having a cigarette or vaping.
Health improvement managers are now searching for a fruit and veg vendor to sell produce at the entrance to Hull Royal Infirmary. As well as making it easier for patients, staff and visitors to buy produce and enjoy their ‘5-a-day’, it is hoped the move will reduce the number of people who smoke at the hospital entrance and on site at all.
If any vendors would be interested in the opportunity to sell fresh produce at the hospital or know someone who would, they should contact Amy Brocklesby, NHS project lead for tobacco dependency at Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust, by emailing her at [email protected] or calling her on +44 07976 854904.
