The Interfood Caspian agro Azerbaijan fair in Baku is in full swing. A few Italian companies are present, including Futura srl. There are, however, several foreign companies. "For us it is an excellent opportunity to do business,' explains Omar Papi, CEO of Futura, "as we are carrying out excellent projects in this geographical area and have several customers."

The fair was inaugurated by the President of Azerbaijan, a sign that the fair aims to be a moment of visibility not only for the domestic market but also for foreign countries.
The fair takes place from 17 to 19 May 2023 in Baku
"Fruit and vegetables are grown in Azerbaijan," Papi continues, "and packers need sorting and packaging lines. On the fruit side, apples, peaches, persimmons and pomegranates are produced here, just to name a few."
Dutch companies
On the other hand, hydroponic cultivation has taken hold among vegetables, with tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers being among the most popular items and for which technology companies are called upon to offer state-of-the-art equipment.
The entrance to the fair
"Producers in Azerbaijan," concludes Omar Papi, "must select fruit and vegetables with precision, as their customers include many large-scale retail chains, especially Russian ones."
