Lahore to open Pakistan's first modern fruit and vegetable market

Lahore is poised to become home to Pakistan's first modern fruit and vegetable market, as announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The market, covering 300 acres, aims to meet international standards and serve as a significant export hub. It will be conveniently located near GT Road Gujranwala and the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway to facilitate easy access for transportation.

Plans are in place to complete this groundbreaking project within 18 months, featuring cold storage facilities for perishables and enhancing the availability of fresh produce. Additionally, the introduction of metro and speedo bus routes is expected to ease transportation for workers and vendors. This initiative not only targets to boost exports but also addresses inflation by offering affordable fruits and vegetables to consumers.
