TikTokers using onions for cough relief

TikTokers are turning to onions as a home remedy for persistent coughs, inspired by viral videos. Amoreena McNally, after months of unsuccessful traditional treatments, placed raw onion slices on her chest under a hot water-filled Ziploc bag. She reported temporary relief but found her cough returned once the onions were removed. Her video, liked by 1.1 million users, sparked discussions about onions "drawing out toxins." However, doctors, including Dr Jen Caudle, refute these claims, stressing there is no scientific basis for such remedies and that the body's organs naturally eliminate toxins.
