The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bolster the implementation of the KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) program and the Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). The agreement was signed by Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. and Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, highlight a concerted effort to support Filipino farmers, workers, and consumers by improving sustainable livelihoods and access to affordable agricultural products.
The MOU emphasizes the commitment of both departments to sustainable development and economic opportunity creation for Filipinos. It outlines plans for technical assistance, capacity building for beneficiaries, linking farmers' cooperatives with KADIWA Stores, and broadening the scope of both KNP and DILP programs across the nation.
