GoFundMe launches for member of produce industry

Rick Sakomoto has been a part of the fabric of the produce industry since 1984. Sakomoto began his career with Grand Union, Fresno, California as a buyer-inspector. As his career developed, he worked for A&P in the Fresno buying office, Z&S Produce in sales, Crown Jewel Produce in sales, Bari Produce in sales, and for Classic Fruit in sales. During his career, Sakomoto has met the challenge of balancing his work life and his family life.

Recently, Sakomoto had an unfortunate accident that left him with limited use of his hands and legs. Sakomoto is recovering at home with his family and attempting to meet the new challenges of his physical condition. To help mitigate the cost of the new medical equipment that he will require, his daughters Morgan and Makenzie began a GoFundMe campaign which has a goal of $20,000. This is a small portion of the funds that will be needed to help support Sakomoto. Those in his circle say that they hope that those who know him, or those who have been touched by his story, will be able to make a donation to his cause.
