Driscoll's Maroc is building a berry processing plant in Larache

Driscoll's Maroc has begun the construction of a new berry processing plant, strategically located in the Loukkos agricultural hub, south of the city of Larache. The project, led by the global berry giant and leading producer of strawberries, represents an important added value for the northern region. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the governor of the province of Larache, Bouassam El Alamine, representatives of the Regional Investment Center of the Tangier-Tetouan-Alhucemas Region (CRITTA), and other partners involved.

The facility, being built in an area of more than 5 hectares, represents a significant investment in the province of Larache and promises to be a considerable source of employment, especially for the local population. The project costs approximately 150 million dirhams and reflects the American company's commitment to its investments in Morocco.

Once completed, the plant will offer more than 500 direct jobs, strengthening the local economic network and contributing to the development and projection of the agricultural hub, positioning it as an area of great attraction. Local authorities have offered continued support to the project since its inception, playing a crucial role in its smooth implementation and integration in the region.

Driscoll's expressed appreciation for the Regional Investment Center's quality support throughout the process, from the prospecting phase to the land acquisition and obtaining construction permits in record time. "The authorities' support, professionalism, advice, and ability to anticipate our needs have been determining factors in choosing this region and have contributed significantly to the smooth progress of the project," the company stated.

The Californian company, already established in Morocco, says that this collaboration will bear fruit in the coming months. This new berry processing plant will boost the region's economic growth and be a successful experience in the province of Larache, just like the company's plant in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region.
