The Norwegian Institute for Bioeconomy has stated: "Ekobot can contribute to reduced storage losses in Swedish onion cultivation according to preliminary results from Hushållningssällskapet Skåne and NIBIO."
The results from field trials in 2022 are not significantly assured, but indicate that onions treated with Ekobot's robotic system produce less loss after storage. This is in comparison with onions treated with traditional herbicides. Ekobot's robot system can be a key to reducing storage losses in Swedish onion cultivation and increasing the onion's resistance to diseases during storage. Horto advisor, Oskar Hansson from the Hushållningssällskapet comments on the results and describes them as promising.
During 2023 Ekobot continues to collaborate with researchers and experts in agriculture to develop innovative solutions that will support the sustainable production of healthy foods.
