Kaduna ginger farmers lose N10 bn to suspected fungal infection

Last Thursday, the The National Ginger Association of Nigeria announced that the 2023 ginger season in Southern Kaduna suffered a setback following an attack by a strange disease, which caused over N10 bn loss to the state’s economy.

The National President of the Association, Nuhu Dauda, urged both the federal and state governments to put in necessary measures to curb the menace of the disease from causing more damage to ginger farming in the state.

The association in collaboration with a group, the Non-Farmers Initiative, also empowered 18 ginger farmers with N50,000 each in Kachia LGA of the state.
