North Ossetia has exported almost 5,000 tons of vegetables and greens to Georgia for the first time in two years

North Ossetia has exported almost 5,000 tons of vegetables and greens to Georgia for the first time in two years, as reported by the press service of the North Caucasus interregional branch of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).

From July to October 2023, the North Caucasus interregional branch of Rosselkhoznadzor inspected 87.3 tons of white cabbage, 41.5 tons of fresh greens, and 4,577 tons of onions intended for export in North Ossetia. The products were shipped to Georgia. The latest batches of fresh greens and onions were dispatched in October. The agency noted that last year, these types of products were not exported to Georgia.

Previously, only imported batches of onions, cabbage, and greens from Georgia entered North Ossetia through the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border, but there was no export. For instance, from January to May of this year, 55 tons of onions, 306 tons of cabbage, and 1,096 tons of greens were imported, but later the shipments stopped.
