In a strategic move to diversify its fruit offerings during Ramadan, Tunisia, through its Trade Office (OTC), has embarked on importing approximately 2,000 tons of bananas from Egypt. This initiative, according to Houssemeddine Touiti, Director General of Competition and Economic Investigations at the Trade and Export Development Ministry, aligns with efforts to ensure a varied fruit supply for the holy month.
Touiti highlighted that the bananas will be retailed at a maximum price of TND 5. Alongside bananas, the Tunisian market is set to enjoy an assortment of fruits this season, including citrus, with an anticipated yield of 365,000 tons.
