Armenia doubles fruit exports to Russia since the beginning of the year

Armenia has increased its exports of apples and apricots to Russia in 2024. From January 1 to June 10, 2024, the export of fruits from Armenia to Russia has grown 2.1 times year-on-year, stated Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan at a press conference.

According to him, while in 2023 the exports included several thousand tons of kiwi, which were re-exports, in 2024 there has been a significant increase in the export of pears, apples, apricots and cherries grown specifically in Armenia.

He also stated that he is not aware of any economic or other reasons that could cause problems with exports to Russia.
