Tran Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Khanh Son Farmers' Association, reported that on June 30, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam faced adverse weather conditions, with heavy rain and strong winds causing substantial damage to the durian crop.
Specifically, the inclement weather led to the loss of 18 tons of durians across Khanh Son, with Thanh Son Commune and Son Lam Commune being notably affected. In Thanh Son Commune, the force of the weather resulted in 10 tons of durians falling and the uprooting of durian trees from 30 households, while Son Lam Commune witnessed the loss of 8 tons of durians from seven households. The financial toll of the damage in these areas is estimated to exceed VND1.3 billion. Additionally, other regions within the vicinity experienced similar weather disruptions, albeit to a lesser extent.
