Celebrations for 40 years of innovation

CIV is delighted to announce its participation in Fruit Focus 2024, together with its Northern European partner Idris Consulting, where it will celebrate 40 years of excellence in the industry. The event will be held on July 10, 2024, at NIAB, East Malling, Kent, and CIV will be located at Booth 514.

Visitors are invited to join us and discover our extensive range of strawberry varieties designed to meet all supply chain needs. Federico Stanzani, CIV's Commercial Director, 'Thanks to our partnership with Idris Consulting, CIV in the last 20 years has driven its breeding program to the UK market needs'.

He continues: 'Our Murano is loved by growers, buyers and consumers for its quality and consistency throughout the whole season. The premium variety Ania® is appreciated for its intense and unique wild strawberry flavour. For farmers looking for high yields, Vivara is the perfect match, while Cantus® offers good productivity and excellent shelf life'.

Andrea Colpo, CIV's Assistant Breeder, affirms: 'We are focused in the new trend of low chill varieties for the glasshouse productions, we are testing our germoplasm to develop the right genetic for this kind of production". Andrea Colpo adds: "The research center also presents Low Chill Varieties perfectly adapted for glasshouse production and its new range of junebearers Klodia® and Giusy®'.

Federico Stanzani will also deliver a speech titled "Innovating Strawberry Cultivation and Marketing through Breeding" at 9:00 a.m. at the NFU Fruit Forum exploring how breeding can provide different solutions that enhance value across the supply chain. These advancements aim to reduce inputs, enable year-round fruit availability, and optimize glasshouse cultivation.

CIV's participation in Fruit Focus underscores their commitment to driving innovation in strawberry breeding. We look forward to sharing our latest developments and celebrating our 40-year journey with industry professionals and partners.
