HM.Clause's NO-ND - New Delhi resistance (ToLCNDV) zucchini

Dharma F1, a zucchini variety for the early segment, resistant to New Delhi

HM.Clause's Dharma F1 zucchini variety, part of its NO-ND - New Delhi resistance range (ToLCNDV), has become "a reliable bet for farmers specialized in this horticultural crop."

"It was the first zucchini variety with resistance to the New Delhi virus that the company incorporated, and it has conquered Almeria's countryside. It's already become a reference for the early segment in the industry, and marketers and cooperatives of the province of Almeria highly appreciate it. Technicians recommend it campaign after campaign thanks to its adaptation to the autumn-winter and spring cycle," said HM.Clause.

"A big advantage it offers is its high productivity, thanks to the strength and vigor of its plant. Not surprisingly, as confirmed by farmers who have already bet and continue to bet on Dharma F1, it allows extending the production cycle beyond four months, with straight, attractive, bright, dark green fruits."

"Dharma F1 has amply demonstrated to farmers that resistance against a virus like New Delhi is not at odds with achieving high yields. Marco Antonio Pardo, a producer with a farm in Matagorda (El Ejido), said he knew a producer who had carried out a transplant in mid-August and achieved yields of 9 kilograms per square meter, which allowed him to continue the harvest until mid-January."

Marco Antonio Pardo, who also opted for the Dharma F1 variety in the 2023-2024 season, stressed that he will grow this variety again this year. He began the campaign by channeling his sales through the auction. Then, he continued it via a cooperative in El Ejido, which has already advised him to keep growing the Dharma F1 variety in the next campaign.

Manuel Miranda, a farmer from La Mojonera with a farm in Las Lomas, in the municipality of Roquetas de Mar, also fully trusts Dharma F1 and extended his campaign until mid-June, with a transplant from the first days of March. "I'm betting again on this variety for the next campaign, in the transplant I'll carry out in September and the subsequent spring cycle."

In addition to its high resistance to New Delhi, hardly any of the Dharma F1 zucchini has to be discarded, Manuel Miranda stated. "You get the production you expect with a color that marketers love."
