Azerbaijan aims to expand pomegranate market

The Azerbaijan Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Association is striving to introduce Azerbaijani pomegranates to new markets and diversify its export destinations. This was stated by the Chairman of the Association, Farhad Garashov, in an interview with Report.

According to him, negotiations are ongoing with potential markets, mainly in the Persian Gulf region, including Kuwait and several major foreign companies currently visiting Azerbaijan. "We are doing everything possible to start exports to these countries in the coming years. Additionally, we are also aiming to obtain the necessary certifications for exporting pomegranates to European countries. Simultaneously, we are working on establishing exports to China. However, for this, the countries need to sign an intergovernmental agreement. As of today, only pomegranate juice is exported to China," he said.
