Boosting the presence of US agricultural goods in Vietnam

Competent Vietnamese agencies and businesses are exerting efforts to import US agricultural products into the Vietnamese market. The US Department of Agriculture reports that in 2023, the US ranked as the third largest exporter of agricultural products to Vietnam, with an export value of $3.1 billion. The import turnover from the US to Vietnam over the past eight months reached $9.8 billion, with agricultural products constituting a substantial portion of this figure.

To meet the increasing demand for high-quality imported products in Vietnam, the US has escalated its import activities, offering premier agricultural products like potatoes, apples, blueberries, and chicken. This initiative not only diversifies the dietary options for the Vietnamese populace but also caters to the expatriate communities in Vietnam.

Enhancing the import of US agricultural products to Vietnam, a US agricultural trade delegation led by Alexis M. Taylor, the Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the US Department of Agriculture, visited MM Mega Market. This visit highlighted MM Mega Market's role in supplying high-quality US agricultural products to the Vietnamese market. The delegation's visit to the An Phu branch in Ho Chi Minh City showcased both domestic and imported agricultural products, including a special display of mixed baby potatoes and American red potatoes.

The delegation emphasized the US potato industry's reliance on advanced research and farming techniques, including GPS, to ensure optimal growth conditions, leading to high-quality and consistent potato yields. This commitment to quality and environmental stewardship is evident in the certification requirements for American potato growers and agronomists in soil care and crop management.

Furthermore, MM Mega Market serves as the exclusive distributor of frozen Tyson whole chickens to the HORECA sector in Vietnam. Tyson chicken, produced by one of the world's leading meat processing corporations, is recognized for its safety and quality, supporting the needs of various hotel, restaurant, and catering chains in the Vietnamese market.
