Coopenoix was present at this year's Fruit Attraction with a number of new products. The cooperative based in Vinay, near Grenoble, traditionally offers French walnuts in shell or kernels. Coopenoix has recently chosen to reinvent itself in order to "address the difficulties facing the French walnut sector," by offering innovative products.

Annabel Robert, who has been with the company for over 10 years, has more to say about these new products, which have not gone unnoticed. "In a saturated market, we have to find solutions to continue supporting our producers. Diversifying our offer by providing high added-value products is one of the ways we can ensure the survival of the French walnut sector, which faces stiff international competition. We remain focused on our core business: producing high-quality, 100% French walnuts. To this end, we are currently developing a premium range designed to emphasize the excellence in terms of quality and production guaranteed by the PDO. This range will be aimed at both export and niche markets."
Other new products on display, this time from the processing sector, included walnut oil, as well as walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds coated in caramelized sugar. All of these products will help to "pay the cooperative's producers a fair price."
