Manchester men shine in health survey with high fruit and veg intake

A study involving 2,000 men across the UK has disclosed variations in how men from different cities perceive their health. Specifically, men from London, Leeds, and Manchester view themselves as leading in healthiness. In Leeds, 82 per cent of the surveyed men indicated they have never engaged in vaping. Manchester's men stand out for their dietary habits, with an intake of four glasses of water and three portions of fruits and vegetables daily. Furthermore, 40 per cent of these men are capable of completing 10 consecutive sit-ups without fatigue, signifying their fitness levels. They also emphasize cooking from scratch and ensuring they get enough fresh air.

London's male residents consider themselves the healthiest, attributed to lower cigarette consumption and a higher propensity for gym memberships. Conversely, Sheffield's men rated themselves as less healthy, reporting lower hydration levels and only 17 per cent possessing gym memberships. The study highlighted key health indicators such as high energy levels, low body fat, and the capacity to exercise without excessive tiredness.

Regional differences further emerge in physical activity and lifestyle choices. In Bristol, 28 per cent have never gone for a run, the highest among surveyed cities, while London sees a lower 11 per cent making the same claim. Birmingham's men are most likely to drive to work,

The research, commissioned by Vitabiotics Wellman, aimed to explore the diverse aspects influencing men's physical wellbeing across the UK. "Health is different for everybody," a spokesperson noted, underscoring the varied factors that contribute to physical health beyond gym frequency.
