In Andalusia, a region known for its abundant citrus and subtropical fruits, GreenLand Organic has emerged as an ethical initiative connecting local farmers with consumers. Founded by Antonio González Ruiz de Mier in Malaga, the project aims to offer a direct, ethical alternative for purchasing agricultural products. "Since childhood, I worked in the family business, a pioneer in organic citrus farming, where I learned the secrets of this noble craft," explains Antonio.
Antonio's experience revealed that large companies and intermediaries often do not provide fair compensation for organic production. This observation led him to directly offer products from his and his friends' farms to consumer associations, small shops, and local supermarkets. "We want every consumer to know who is behind each product they buy and to be certain that it has been cultivated with dedication and respect for nature," he states.
GreenLand Organic supplies a variety of produce to Spain, France, and Belgium, planning future expansions. The pandemic underscored the need for market diversification, prompting the inclusion of products like dragon fruit and nuts. "When consumers buy our products, they're not only getting fresh, organic food, but they're also supporting local farmers who receive a fair price for their work," Antonio adds.
GreenLand Organic positions itself as a link between passionate cultivators and consumers who value the freshness and origin of their food. Antonio concludes, "We want our consumers to know exactly where their products come from and enjoy the peace of mind that there are no middlemen inflating costs or distorting the process."
