AB Texel France acquires Delavenne Transports’ transport division

AB Texel France will acquire the transport operations of Delavenne Transports starting 1 December 2024, significantly expanding its network in agricultural product transport, the company announced. "The acquisition aligns with our strategy to support customers in realizing their goals as a logistics partner in the agri and food sectors, leveraging economies of scale, network reach, expertise, and data as keys to success."

The Delavenne Group has specialized in logistics and transport for over 35 years. Its three warehouses store a variety of products, ranging from agricultural, food, and industrial items to high-value goods such as cosmetics, alcohol, and electronics. In addition to storage and transshipment, this family-owned company offers complementary services like packaging, order preparation, and e-commerce support. The fourth location in Péronne hosts their transport activities, including a fleet of trucks primarily consisting of sliding tarpaulin trailers. The acquisition by AB Texel France covers Delavenne Transports' transport activities, including 27 employees, 24 trucks, and 36 trailers, along with the premises in Péronne.

AB Texel France specializes in the transport of agricultural products, handling both bulk and general cargo. "Around 80 employees work daily to provide customers in France with the best logistics services, supported by a fleet of over 65 trucks and corresponding trailers."

Nicolas Delavenne, CEO, explains, "We want to focus more on our logistics activities. For transport, we looked for a solid and reliable company that could ensure continuity for our customers and employees. In AB Texel France, we found the ideal partner."

Tom De Lange, managing director of AB Texel France and Belgium, expressed excitement about the expansion in France. "To fully relieve our customers, it's important to have real operational strength. We aim not only to grow with existing customers but also to offer new customers increased capacity and flexibility. This acquisition makes that possible. Furthermore, the Péronne location is centrally located within our operational area. I am pleased to welcome our new colleagues."

AB Texel France is part of AB Texel, a major international player in agri, food, and specialized transport. Following the acquisition, AB Texel will employ around 2,950 people and operate a modern fleet of approximately 1,780 trucks and around 2,950 trailers.
