Romeo's Best produces table grapes over 1200 hectares and have one of the longest supply periods in Australia. The company have exclusive rights in Queensland's far north to grow the ARRA Sweeties variety from GRAPA.
"We had a great season this year on the ARRA Sweeties with consistent volume and quality. We have also harvested Sweet Globe commercially which has proved extremely popular with our supermarket customers. We harvested ARRA Yumibo, Mystic Dream and Firecrunch this year commercially with excellent results," said Francesca Wagner, Executive General Manager at the company.

The harvest and yields were as expected and next year Romeo's Best will see increased volumes in line with their aggressive planting schedules eliminating the viability of US imports. "Demand met supply cumulating in a successful season. We finished picking first week in November and have now commenced picking in Emerald."
ARRA size was medium berry with Brix average around 17, while Sweet Globe size was large with Brix average around 20.
"We are expanding our offering to include Sunworld varieties next year, we are the largest independent grower in the country to now offer all genetic varieties across Australia."

Romeos will now move into the harvest of regular varieties of Flame and Menindee's which are grown in Emerald and St George, Queensland. These varieties are smaller than the generic ones and brix from 16.
"We have started off with some wild weather in Emerald and expect it to continue. We mitigate this through staggered production and vine covers."
ARRA Mystic Dream
The company does not export from Queensland due to the high prices and demand domestically.
"With the harvest finished first week of November in Far North Queensland we reflected on a great season. We supplied consistent high quality fruit from start to finish. This is exactly what our customers are after and has set us up very well for bigger and better seasons in the future."
