The rainfall of recent weeks has been insufficient to meet the needs of the Italian agricultural sector. We have been working on the assumption that, after a long and severe drought, a relatively modest amount of water, sometimes in the form of heavy rainfall (which prevents the soil from absorbing water effectively), is sufficient to restore normality. Our company has been working in this field for several years and during this time we have seen a growing demand and interest in our services, not only in Italy and Europe but also in countries outside the EU. This means that things have changed on the waterfront, and for the better," says Vincenzo Orso, HydroHunter Italia pilot, on the subject of underground water exploration using innovative remotely piloted aircraft systems.
"We offer three scan depths to suit our client's needs: 30, 180, and 240 metres. The price per 100 linear metres varies according to the depth chosen. The equipment used requires more power at greater depths, but the valuable work of our experts following the drone flight is our priority. Each step increases the price by 25%."
The Hydro Hunter method makes use of high-precision drones, including a special technological probe, which is deployed over the surface of the land of interest and sends electromagnetic waves to the ground. "We never give our clients estimates of the possible cubic metres of water in that piece of land; rather, we advise on how much the identified aquifer is capable of yielding, and therefore whether it is worth drilling. Once we have completed our work, we provide the client with a technical report, which is then made available to the drilling companies."
HydroHunter Italia offers a complimentary geophysical analysis to all drilling companies, aimed at assessing the feasibility of locating water in the subsoil of the specified area, to prevent the unnecessary expenditure of resources on the construction of a well in an area where the resource is absent or where the aquifers are inadequate to meet the desired yield. Furthermore, this approach helps to recuperate the costs incurred during drilling operations.
